Quick Start Guide
- Connect the microphone to the power supply via the 7-pin cable before turning on the power supply. This will extend the tube's life.
- Allow the microphone to warm up for at least two minutes before recording, to allow circuit voltages to stabilize.
- For vocal recording, it is neither necessary nor recommended to "eat" the mic. You will capture a more natural sound if the microphone is at least six inches or up to 18 inches from the singer's mouth. For more vocal mic placement tips, see our article on Mic Position for Vocal Recording.
- When recording loud sources, especially when the microphone is placed crlose to the source, engage the mic's attenuation pad: move the toggle switch below the grille to the "-10" position. This lowers the mic's sensitivity by 10dB, which can help prevent clipping (overloading) the mic on loud sources.

How to Change the Tube
If the microphone has become noisy, the most likely culprit is the vacuum tube. Tubes do not last forever. Contact us for options, if you need a new tube.
